Manchester Confucius Institute teachers went to Lancaster to participate in Chinese Teaching Symposium
 
On 19^th September, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester went to the Confucius Institute at the University of Lancaster to attend the Chinese Language Teaching Symposium hosted by the Consulate General with the sponsored teacher and four volunteer Chinese teachers.
At 3pm, Mr Liu, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Lancaster announced the opening of the meeting and delivered a welcoming speech. The Consul General Sun in the speech mentioned as overseas Chinese teachers we have to be grateful, thank the times to bring us a peaceful living environment, thank the motherland for the strong to provide us with solid backing, thank the support of our sending units, thank the encouragement and support of our families. After that, the Consul Wang Ying announced the list of outstanding Chinese directors and awarded the honorary certificate to them. Finally, the Consul General sent moon cakes to all Chinese directors and teachers that made us feel the care from the motherland in a foreign country.
After the symposium we traveled to Lancaster city center, and teachers exchanged their experiences in teaching Chinese as a foreign language at the dinner party. Then we went to participate in the exhibition of the Consul Wang Ying. Wang Ying, a diplomat and artist, painted beautiful scenery in the UK in Chinese traditional way. His exhibition is not only a feast of art, but also the perfect combination of elements of the UK and China, the model to promote Sino-British friendship.
